Rian Heaney, student at Galway Technical Institute<br />
As part of his studies, Rian had a particular interest in helping Irish Water Safety to conduct research that would help to raise awareness about water safety. Rian chose to conduct this research in the farming community and to this end created a questionnaire that he brought to the National ploughing Championships where he spend two days walking around and interviewing farmers about their attitudes to water safety and their behaviours around dangerous aquatic environments on farms. His sixteen pages of research and recommendations will now be used to inform practical marketing interventions to reach this at-risk group and for this we are very grateful.
