Today we recognise Dunboyne Senior Primary School for delivering Irish Water Safety’s Primary School Aquatics Programme, a national water safety programme that is now a voluntary component of the primary school curriculum.<br />
The emphasis that the school places on water safety reflected in the fact that in the last year, 300 course certificates were presented to pupils which gives pupils the skills, attitudes and behaviours necessary to stay safe in the vicinity of aquatic environments. Thirty children aged fourteen and under drowned in ten years nationwide therefore we are very grateful to all teachers and staff involved.
